Please join us and our co-hosts to take a deep dive into learning about Colorado’s oil & gas operating permit review process and what impact you can make on it! This webinar will provide the information that folks well-versed in o&g issues need to access, analyze, give input, and influence the review of oil and gas permits being considered by the COGCC. Our featured speaker, Brad Klafehn, is an expert on oil and gas development plans. Link: RSVP here to attend!
Colter Bay Village in Grand Tetons National Park, Wyoming
Duration: 4 days
Public · Anyone on or off Facebook
Save the Date! August 25th – 28th you are invited to join us for a group trip to the beautiful Grand Tetons National Park in Wyoming, where the Federal Reserve is having its national annual meeting, to participate in an in-person action to demand a Fossil-Free Federal Reserve!
We will have a peaceful demonstration outside the event and create a presence that can’t be ignored. We will have A LOT OF FUN! We’ve rented a group camping site at Colter Bay Village on beautiful Jackson Lake, located in the national park. The campgrounds are top-notch, with several restaurants, a general store, gift shop, wifi, etc., and there are ranger walks, horseback riding, canoes and kayaks to be enjoyed if you wish!
350.org will cover transportation costs, food costs (up to $15/meal), and the group camping site costs. All you need to do is bring your personal items, a tent and bedding for camping (or let us know if you would prefer to stay in shared RVs we’re renting).

As the Colorado Legislature opens on January 9 and Gov. Polis prepares his State of the State speech for January 17, we must make it clear that our elected officials need to stop the permitting of more dangerous oil and gas drilling and fracking projects that harm our health, climate, air, and water. The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) has approved over 5600 new oil and gas wells since Gov. Polis took office, including permits for over 1,000 fracking wells in the last few months alone, despite the objections of community members and leaders in impacted communities. These permits are especially negligent of the needs of Black, Latino, and Indigenous people in Aurora and Weld County who are already facing multiple sources of air pollution and the consequent health effects. Join us at the State Capitol during Gov. Polis’ State of the State Address to tell him and the Colorado Legislature that the oil and gas wars are NOT OVER and we want to see a phase out of permitting for oil and gas wells by 2030 and a just transition to a clean renewable energy future. We’ll urge our leaders and community members to sign onto this related support letter: https://secure.ngpvan.com/ftaIfFXGnESVMdU08tbPAg2. (Please share it widely!)
Please join us at the West Steps of the State Capitol building at 10:30 am to prepare for an 11 am start. We plan on having powerful speakers, artwork, public theater and joining voices to make our message heard.
