This is a key opportunity for comment on potentially hazardous effects on an important watershed in Larimer County! Your written or spoken comments can really help!
The COGCC will taking public comment about renewing the operating permit for Wellington Operating Company at this hearing. Based on the hard work of local activists working with the Larimer Alliance, we have established that Wellington Operating has been discharging supposedly “processed” toxic waste taken from produced water from local fracking operations through infiltration pits into the Boxelder Creek watershed — for years. We question the effectiveness of that processing, and the validity of relying on the operator to monitor the content of the discharge downstream.
